Privacy Policy
WiFi Key Map ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
WiFi Key Map helps you find free WiFi hotspots around you, run speed tests, view network information, and save and share your own WiFi passwords. You do not need to create an account to use it.
1. Information We Collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or WiFi passwords on our servers. The passwords and hotspots you save stay on your device.
1.1 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, our third-party analytics and advertising partners (see Section 3) automatically collect:
- Device and advertising identifiers (e.g., the Android Advertising ID, device model, operating system version, language)
- Approximate (coarse, IP-based) location inferred from your IP address for advertising and measurement
- App activity and interactions (features used, screens viewed, session and diagnostic events)
- Crash logs and performance diagnostics
1.2 Permissions Used on Your Device (not transmitted to us)
- Location: Android requires location permission to scan for nearby WiFi networks and to let you pin hotspots on the map. Your precise GPS location is used on your device to find networks and place map pins; it is not sent to or stored by us. (Separately, our ad/analytics partners may infer approximate location from your IP as described above.)
- Camera: used solely to scan WiFi QR codes on your device. Camera images are processed on-device and are not collected, stored, or transmitted.
- WiFi state / nearby WiFi: used to read the current connection details and scan surrounding networks on your device.
- Notifications: used to send you local reminders (e.g., re-engagement). These are generated on your device; we do not send push messages from a server.
2. How We Use Information
We (and our partners) use the information above to: provide and operate the App; show and measure advertising; understand usage through analytics and improve the App; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues; and comply with legal obligations. We do not use the data you store locally (saved passwords, pinned hotspots) for any of these purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
The App includes the following third-party SDKs that may receive data as described above. Each partner processes data under its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) — usage analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration — Privacy Policy
- Google AdMob — advertising — Privacy Policy
- Meta (Facebook) — advertising and attribution measurement — Privacy Policy
- Adjust — attribution and marketing analytics — Privacy Policy
Advertising consent (UMP). Where required (e.g., in the EEA/UK), the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before serving personalized ads. You can change your choice later in the App's settings/consent prompt where available.
Reset or opt out of the advertising ID. You can limit ad personalization or reset your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings: Settings → Privacy → Ads (Android) — "Delete advertising ID" or "Reset advertising ID".
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share the information in Section 1.1 with the third-party partners listed in Section 3 so they can provide advertising, analytics, and measurement.
Because we use personalized advertising, sharing device/advertising identifiers with ad partners may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under certain U.S. state laws (e.g., the California CPRA). You can opt out using the advertising-ID and consent controls in Section 3, or by contacting us (Section 13). We may also disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, or in connection with a business transfer.
5. Legal Bases (EEA/UK — GDPR)
- Consent — personalized advertising and, where required, analytics.
- Legitimate interests — core functionality, security, fraud prevention, and improving the App.
- Legal obligation — where processing is required by law.
6. Data Retention
We retain automatically collected data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Advertising and analytics identifiers are retained according to each partner's retention periods; crash and diagnostic data are kept for a limited period. Data you store locally remains until you delete it or uninstall the App.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- GDPR (EEA/UK): access, correct, delete, port, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
- CCPA/CPRA (California): know, delete, and correct your information; opt out of the "sale"/"sharing" of personal information and targeted advertising; and non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
- Other regions (e.g., LGPD in Brazil, PIPEDA in Canada): equivalent rights under local law.
Because the App has no accounts, please contact us at the email in Section 13 to exercise these rights, and include your Android Advertising ID (and device model/OS) so we can locate any partner data associated with your device.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region). If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our partners operate. Where required, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are used to protect your information.
10. Data Security
We and our partners use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Third-Party Links and Content
The App can open external web links (for example, when you tap a link or use the in-app search). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party websites or services; please review their policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
