Privacy Policy
Torchwise ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Torchwise is a flashlight utility: a one-tap LED torch with brightness control, a live compass, a camera magnifier, LED flash alerts for incoming calls, SMS and app notifications, a colour screen light, SOS, strobe and disco modes, a Quick Settings tile and an optional home-screen (launcher) mode. You do not need to create an account to use it.
1. Information we collect
Collected automatically and sent to our service providers:
- App usage and diagnostics — app interactions (for example which screens are opened), app version, device model, operating system version, and crash logs, collected through Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
- Device and app identifiers — the Firebase installation / app instance identifier used to count unique installations and group crash reports.
Processed only on your device (never uploaded):
- Phone call state (permission
READ_PHONE_STATE) — used only to know that the phone is ringing so the LED can flash. We do not read phone numbers, contacts or call history. - Notifications (Notification access, only if you enable it) — used only to detect that a notification arrived and which app posted it, so the LED can flash for the apps you selected. Notification content is not stored or transmitted.
- Installed apps list — used only to show your apps in the flash-alert app picker and in the optional home-screen mode, and to open the app you tap.
- Settings — your flash timing, alert filters, colours and language are stored locally on your device.
- App reminder notices (permission
POST_NOTIFICATIONS, Android 13+) — the App can show its own reminder that the flashlight is one tap away. These notices are scheduled on your device and contain no personal data; you can turn them off in your system notification settings.
- Camera (permission
CAMERA, only when you open the Magnifier) — the live camera preview is shown on screen so you can zoom in on small text or objects, and the camera LED can be switched on. A "freeze" frame is kept in memory only while the Magnifier is open. The App does not save, upload or share camera images or video. - Motion and magnetic sensors — used only to show the compass heading on screen. Sensor readings are not stored or transmitted, and the compass does not use or collect your location.
- Feedback you send — if you choose "Send feedback", your own email app opens with our address. We receive only what you decide to send (your email address and message) and use it only to reply and improve the App.
The App does not collect your location, contacts, photos, message content or microphone audio.
2. How we use information
- To provide and operate the App's flashlight, compass, magnifier, alert, screen-light and launcher features.
- To answer feedback or support requests you send us.
- To understand how the App is used and improve it (analytics).
- To detect, diagnose and fix crashes and errors (diagnostics).
- To keep the App secure and comply with legal obligations.

The App does not contain advertising SDKs and does not show ads.
If you tap "Rate us" and give four stars or more, the App opens its own Google Play listing in your browser or Play Store app; we do not receive the rating you entered. If you tap "Share", your device's share sheet opens with a link to the App and you choose where it goes.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for targeted advertising. Information is shared only with the service providers listed above, which process it on our behalf, when required by law or to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer (merger, acquisition or sale of assets).
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK — GDPR)
- Legitimate interests — operating the App, keeping it secure and fixing crashes.
- Consent — where required by local law for analytics.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep or disclose information by law.
6. Data retention
Analytics data is kept according to Google Firebase retention settings (up to 14 months) and crash reports for up to 90 days. Settings stored on your device remain until you clear the App's data or uninstall it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority (GDPR/UK GDPR). California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and the right to non-discrimination (CCPA/CPRA); similar rights apply under LGPD (Brazil), PIPEDA (Canada) and other laws. Because the App has no accounts, please include your device model and the approximate date you used the App when contacting us so we can locate related records. You can also stop all collection at any time by uninstalling the App.
8. Children's privacy
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the higher age of digital consent in your country). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International data transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Data security
Data sent to our service providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), and we take reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
