Privacy Policy

Task Nest ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

Task Nest is a to-do list, habit tracker, and focus (Pomodoro) app that helps you plan tasks, build habits, and stay organized. You can use Task Nest without an account — your data is stored locally on your device. Creating a free account (email and password) is optional and enables secure cloud sync of your data across your devices.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect data that actually leaves your device. Much of what you do in Task Nest stays entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us.

Information you provide (only if you create an account)

• Account credentials — your email address and a password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication) and are not visible to us in plain text.

Content you create (only if you are signed in and cloud sync is active)

• Your tasks, task lists, habits, habit check-ins, and countdowns, including their titles, notes, due dates, priorities, and completion status, are synced to your private cloud storage so they are available across your devices.

Information collected automatically

• Crash logs and diagnostics — if the App crashes or misbehaves, we receive crash reports and basic diagnostic information (such as device model, operating system version, and the state of the App at the time) to help us fix problems. This is provided by Google Firebase Crashlytics.
• IP address — like any app that connects to the internet, your device's IP address is processed by our service providers to deliver network requests. We do not use it to track you across other apps or services.

Processed on your device only (NOT collected by us)

• Camera and photos — the App can attach an image to a task using your camera or photo library. These images are stored locally on your device only; they are not uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party.
• Local app data — tasks and settings you create while signed out, reminders, alarms, and home-screen widget data are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted.

We do not collect precise or approximate location, contacts, microphone/audio, health or fitness data, financial or payment information, or advertising identifiers. The App contains no advertising and no in-app purchases.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

• Provide and operate the App and its core features (tasks, habits, focus timer, calendar, countdowns, reminders, widgets).
• Authenticate you and enable secure cloud sync of your own content across your devices (only if you sign in).
• Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve the App's stability and performance.
• Maintain the security and integrity of the App and prevent abuse.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, ad targeting, or profiling, and we do not sell it.

3. Third-Party Services

Task Nest relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:

• Google Firebase Authentication — optional account sign-in (email/password); data: email address, user ID. Privacy Policy
• Google Cloud Firestore — secure cloud sync of your tasks/habits/countdowns; data: your app content, user ID. Privacy Policy
• Google Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting and diagnostics; data: crash logs, diagnostic/device info. Privacy Policy

These services are provided by Google LLC. See also Google's Privacy Policy. Google acts as our service provider / data processor and is not permitted to use your Task Nest data for its own advertising purposes.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:

• With the service providers listed in Section 3, acting on our behalf to operate the App;
• If required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request;
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or other business transfer, subject to this Policy.

5. Legal Bases (EEA/UK — GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on:

• Contract — to provide the App and, if you sign in, to sync your content.
• Legitimate interests — to keep the App secure, diagnose crashes, and improve reliability.
• Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data by law.
• Consent — where required, which you may withdraw at any time.

6. Data Retention

• Account and synced content — retained while your account is active. When you request deletion (see Section 7), your account and synced content are deleted.
• Local data — remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
• Crash logs and diagnostics — retained for a limited period by our provider for troubleshooting, then aggregated or deleted per their retention schedule.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent.

• GDPR (EEA/UK): access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
• CCPA/CPRA (California): know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing" — note we do not sell or share your personal information — and the right to non-discrimination.
• Other regions (LGPD, PIPEDA, etc.): equivalent rights under applicable law.

To exercise any right — including deleting your account and all associated cloud data — email us at contact@tranquilmind.co from the email address associated with your account. If you used the App without an account, most data never left your device; simply delete the App to remove local data.

8. Children's Privacy

Task Nest is intended for users aged 13 and older (or the higher minimum age of digital consent in your country). The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable minimum age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.

10. Data Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmitted between the App and our service providers, and rely on our providers' access controls and security measures. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
