Privacy Policy
Ringwise ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Ringwise is a caller ID, call-blocking, and message-tracking utility for Android. It names incoming calls by matching them against the contacts saved on your device, screens calls against the spam and block lists you create, and helps you keep track of notifications you may not have opened. You do not need to create an account to use it.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the data needed to operate the App. Most processing happens on your device; the items below are those that may leave your device.
Automatically collected
- Device & advertising identifiers (including the Android Advertising ID) — used for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention.
- Approximate location derived from your IP address — used by advertising and analytics partners; the App does not request GPS/precise-location permission.
- App activity & diagnostics — screens viewed, features used, and interaction events for analytics and product improvement.
- Crash logs & diagnostics — stack traces, device model, OS version, and app state at the time of a crash.
- Installed apps — the App checks whether a small, fixed set of messaging apps (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram) is installed so it can group the notifications shown in the "Unseen" tab. Our advertising and attribution partners may also receive installed-app signals from your device as part of their own SDKs.
Accessed on your device to provide App features (processed locally; not uploaded to us)
- Contacts (
READ_CONTACTS) — read to match incoming and looked-up numbers to names for caller identification and the in-app Contacts tab. Contact data is used on-device and is not transmitted to our servers. - Call screening (the Android caller ID & spam app role, available on Android 10 and newer) — used to evaluate incoming calls against the spam and block lists you created, and to silence or turn away those calls on your device.
- Notification access (notification listener) — used to surface notifications you may have missed ("unseen" messages). The notification content is stored on your device only and is not transmitted to us.
- Phone calls (
CALL_PHONE) — used to place a call when you tap a number inside the App.
We do not collect payment information (the App has no in-app purchases or subscriptions), we do not operate user accounts or logins, and we do not read your call log or SMS messages (the App holds no Call Log or SMS permission).
2. How we use information
- Provide and operate the App's caller-ID, call-screening, and message-tracking features.
- Show advertising and measure its performance.
- Analytics, diagnostics, and product improvement.
- Maintain security and prevent fraud, invalid traffic, or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-party services
The App integrates the following data-transmitting SDKs:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) | Usage analytics, crash reporting, feature configuration | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google AdMob | Advertising & mediation | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Meta Audience Network | Advertising (mediation) | https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy |
| Facebook SDK (Meta) | Bundled as a dependency of the Meta mediation adapter. In this version its automatic initialization, automatic event logging, and advertiser-ID collection are switched off. | https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy |
| AppLovin | Advertising (mediation) | https://www.applovin.com/privacy/ |
| Pangle | Advertising (mediation) | https://www.pangleglobal.com/privacy |
| Mintegral | Advertising (mediation) | https://www.mintegral.com/en/privacy/ |
| Adjust | Attribution & marketing analytics | https://www.adjust.com/terms/privacy-policy/ |
Third-party ad content. Ads shown in the App are selected and delivered by the networks above. We do not control the content of individual ads, and their appearance does not imply our endorsement.
Ad consent (UMP). Where required (e.g. the EEA/UK), we present a Google-certified consent flow (UMP) before serving personalized ads, and we honor your choice.
Reset or opt out of the advertising ID. You can reset your Android Advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in Settings → Google → Ads on your device.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information for money. We share data with the third-party services listed in Section 3 to operate advertising, analytics, and attribution; for legal reasons (to comply with law or lawful requests); and in a business transfer (merger, acquisition, or asset sale). Because ads may be personalized, certain U.S. state laws treat sharing for targeted advertising as a "sale"/"sharing"; you may opt out as described in Sections 3 and 7.
We do not share your contacts, your spam and block lists, or the content of your notifications with anyone. That data stays on your device.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK — GDPR)
- Consent — personalized advertising and analytics where consent is required.
- Legitimate interests — core functionality, security, and product improvement.
- Legal obligation — compliance with applicable law.
6. Data retention
We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Advertising and analytics identifiers are retained according to each partner's retention periods; crash and diagnostic data are kept for a limited period to fix issues. Data held on your device (contacts cache, spam and block lists, unseen notifications) is removed when you clear the App's storage or uninstall the App.
7. Your rights
- GDPR (EEA/UK): access, correct, delete, port, object, restrict, withdraw consent, and complain to a data protection authority.
- CCPA/CPRA (California): know, delete, correct, opt out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising, and non-discrimination.
- Other regions (LGPD, PIPEDA, etc.): equivalent rights under local law.
Because the App has no accounts, when you contact us to exercise a right please include your Android Advertising ID and device details so we can locate any associated data. Contact us at the email in Section 12.
8. Children's privacy
The App is intended for users aged 16 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region, which may be lower). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Ringwise has no chat, comments, profiles, or any other way for users to communicate with or exchange content with one another. It is therefore outside the scope of Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy, and no child-safety standards page is published for it.
9. International data transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we and our partners rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).
10. Data security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and other reasonable technical and organizational measures. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
