Privacy Policy
Quartz Browser ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Quartz Browser is a private, lightweight web browser for Android. You do not need to create an account to use it; the App works without any sign-in. An optional in-app purchase lets you remove ads.
1. Information we collect
We keep the App as private as possible and do not ask you to register. The pages you visit, your browsing history, bookmarks, tabs, and on-device search entries are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to us.
Some information is collected automatically by the third-party services listed in Section 3 so the App can run, stay stable, and be supported by ads:
- Device and advertising identifiers — including the Android Advertising ID (AD_ID) and similar identifiers, used for advertising, attribution, and analytics.
- Approximate (coarse) location — derived from your IP address by advertising partners for ad targeting and measurement. We do not collect precise/GPS location.
- App activity and diagnostics — in-app interactions, ad interactions, and general usage events used to operate and improve the App.
- Crash logs and performance diagnostics — collected to detect and fix stability problems.
- Purchase status — if you buy the ad-removal subscription, the transaction is processed by Google Play; we receive your purchase/subscription status (not your card details).
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or the content of the web pages you browse.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App.
- Display and measure advertising (including through mediation partners).
- Attribute installs and measure marketing campaigns.
- Analyze usage to improve features and performance.
- Detect, prevent, and diagnose crashes, fraud, and security issues.
- Process and restore the optional ad-removal purchase.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-party services
The App integrates the following data-transmitting SDKs. Each partner processes data under its own privacy policy:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) | Analytics, crash reporting, app configuration | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google AdMob | Advertising & ad measurement | https://policies.google.com/privacy |

Ad consent (UMP). Where required (e.g. in the EEA/UK), the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request your consent for personalized advertising before ads that rely on it are shown. You can change your choice later from the App's settings.
Reset or opt out of the advertising ID. You can reset or delete your Android Advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your device Settings → Google → Ads. This limits ad targeting based on that identifier.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share the automatically-collected data described above with the advertising, attribution, and analytics partners in Section 3 so they can provide their services. Because the App shows personalized advertising, certain U.S. state privacy laws may treat this sharing of identifiers/approximate location for targeted advertising as a "sale" or "sharing"; you can opt out as described in Sections 3 and 7. We may also disclose information to comply with the law or in connection with a business transfer.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK — GDPR)
- Consent — personalized advertising and, where required, analytics.
- Legitimate interests — core functionality, security, fraud prevention, and improving the App.
- Contract / legal obligation — processing your ad-removal purchase and meeting legal duties.
You can withdraw consent at any time through the App's consent settings or your device ad settings.
6. Data retention
We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Advertising, attribution, and analytics partners retain identifiers according to their own policies. Crash and diagnostic data are kept for a limited period needed to investigate issues.
7. Your rights
- EEA/UK (GDPR): access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, restriction, withdrawal of consent, and the right to complain to a data protection authority.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information and targeted advertising, without discrimination.
- Other regions (LGPD, PIPEDA, etc.): equivalent rights under applicable local law.
Because the App has no accounts, please contact us at the email in Section 13 to exercise these rights and include your Android Advertising ID and device details so we can identify the relevant data.
8. Children's privacy
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it. Where a higher age of digital consent applies (e.g. parts of the EEA), that age governs.
9. International data transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we and our partners use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for these transfers.
10. Data security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. Third-party content
Quartz Browser lets you access websites and content operated by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of those sites. Please review the policies of any site you visit.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
