Privacy Policy
Plotwist ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Plotwist is a vertical short-drama app where every episode ends on a twist: you swipe through bite-sized romance, mafia, billionaire and werewolf series, save the ones you want to finish, and pick each story back up where you stopped. You do not need to create an account to use it — there is no sign-up, login, or profile, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
1. Information we collect
The App collects the following automatically, through the third-party services listed in Section 3 and through our own streaming service:
- Device and advertising identifiers — including the Android Advertising ID, the Firebase installation/app-instance identifier, the Google Play install referrer, and an anonymous purchase identifier generated by our billing provider. Used for advertising, analytics, attribution, purchase validation, and fraud prevention.
- Approximate location — derived by our advertising, analytics, and attribution providers from your IP address (country/region level, not GPS). The App does not request device location permission and does not collect precise location.
- App activity — in-app events and interactions such as screens viewed, series and episodes opened, playback events, ads viewed, coins and ad-free time earned, episode unlocks, and paywall or purchase events. Used for analytics and advertising measurement.
- Crash logs and diagnostics — crash reports, stack traces, device model, operating-system version, and app version, used to detect and fix stability issues.
- Purchase status — the fact, type, and status of any premium (VIP) subscription purchased through Google Play Billing and our billing provider. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- App and device integrity signals — our anti-tamper component checks whether the App has been modified, repackaged, or is running under a debugger, hooking framework, emulator, or rooted device, and reports these signals (together with device model, OS version, app version, and app signature) to its provider and to our analytics. This protects the licensed video content from unauthorized copying.
- Streaming service request data — when you browse the catalogue, play an episode, or load a subtitle track, your device requests content from our streaming service at snapdrm.com and from the content delivery networks that host the video, cover images, and subtitle files. Those requests include your IP address, the requested series/episode identifier, the language code you selected, and standard technical request data (user agent, timestamps), which are processed to deliver the content and kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
Stored only on your device (not collected by us): your continue-watching progress, the series you like or save, your coin balance and any ad-free window earned from a rewarded ad, your episode unlocks, your language, subtitle and playback preferences, and your ad-consent choices. These are held in local app storage and are removed when you clear the App's data or uninstall it. Search is performed on your device against the catalogue already downloaded — your search terms are not sent to us.
The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, photos, files, contacts, calendar, or device location.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and deliver the series, episodes, and subtitles you request.
- Remember your progress, saved series, coins, unlocks, and preferences on your device.
- Serve and measure advertising, including personalized advertising where you have consented, and grant the rewards (coins, temporary ad-free time, episode unlocks) earned from rewarded ads.
- Analyze usage to understand and improve performance, content, and features.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, piracy, tampering, and security issues.
- Process and validate premium (VIP) subscriptions, and restore them for you.
- Comply with legal obligations.

Ad consent (UMP / IAB TCF). Where required — for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland — the App shows a Google-certified consent message (Google User Messaging Platform) before ads are loaded, and stores your choices locally in the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework format so our advertising partners honour them. You can reopen the privacy options and change or withdraw your consent at any time from the App's settings screen.
Advertising ID controls. You can reset your Android Advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization at any time in Settings → Google → Ads on your device. Opting out does not remove ads; it makes them less relevant.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data only:
- with the third-party providers listed in Section 3, so they can perform advertising, analytics, attribution, purchase validation, security, and content delivery on our behalf;
- for legal reasons — to comply with applicable law, a lawful request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or us;
- in a business transfer — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify users of any change in control of their information.
U.S. state privacy note. When you consent to personalized advertising, the exchange of advertising identifiers and app-activity data with our advertising partners may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising under laws such as the California CPRA. You can opt out at any time by declining or withdrawing consent in the App's privacy options, by opting out of ad personalization in your device settings, or by contacting us (Section 13).
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK — GDPR)
- Consent — personalized advertising and, where required, analytics and attribution. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — operating and securing the App, delivering non-personalized advertising, preventing fraud, piracy and tampering, and improving our service.
- Performance of a contract — delivering the content and premium features you request.
- Legal obligation — retaining transaction and compliance records where the law requires it.
6. Data retention
We keep information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law. Analytics and advertising identifiers are retained by the relevant provider according to its own retention schedule (typically 2 to 14 months for event-level data). Crash and diagnostic reports are kept for a limited period while we investigate stability issues. Streaming server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting. Data stored only on your device is deleted when you clear the App's data or uninstall the App.
7. Your rights
EEA / UK (GDPR). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used and disclosed, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Other regions. Users in Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA), and other jurisdictions have comparable rights under their local law.
Because the App has no accounts, we cannot link data to you by name or email. To exercise a right, email us at contact@tranquilmind.co and include your Android Advertising ID (Settings → Google → Ads), your device model, and the approximate date you used the App, so we can locate the relevant records. You can also delete everything the App holds locally at any time by clearing the App's data or uninstalling it.
8. Children's privacy
The App is intended for users aged 16 and over and is not directed to children. The series available in the App may contain mature dramatic themes. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at contact@tranquilmind.co and we will delete it. The App does not include chat, messaging, comments, user profiles, or any other way for users to communicate with or share content with one another.
9. International data transfers
We and our providers may process and store information in countries outside your own, including the United States and the European Union, whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Data security
We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for data in transit and apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. The App also includes anti-tamper protection to defend the licensed content. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Third-party content
Series, video files, cover images, and subtitles are supplied and hosted by our content partners and delivered through their content delivery networks. Advertisements are supplied by the ad networks in Section 3 and may link to third-party websites or stores. We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices; please review their policies before interacting with them.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and where required we will ask for your consent again. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
