Privacy Policy
Phantomly ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Phantomly is a paranormal-themed entertainment app: a ghost radar camera, an EMF-style meter driven by your phone's magnetic sensor, a spirit box, a Talking Board, scary stories and a hunt journal. It is a simulator made for fun. It does not detect ghosts, spirits or any real paranormal activity, and its readings and "responses" are generated by the App for entertainment. You do not need to create an account to use it, and the App contains no advertising.
1. Information we collect
Information processed only on your device (not sent to us).
- Camera. If you grant camera permission, the camera preview is used for the ghost radar screen. Frames are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us. When you tap capture, the App saves an "evidence" photo (with the overlay and readings) to the App's private storage and to your device photo gallery in a "Phantomly" album. On Android 10 and later this uses the system media store and needs no storage permission; on Android 9 and earlier the App asks for permission to write to storage only to save these photos. The App does not read your existing photo library.
- Motion and magnetic sensors. The magnetometer, accelerometer and gyroscope are read on your device to drive the EMF meter, compass heading and radar effects. These readings are not stored on our servers.
- Hunt journal and settings. Your hunt sessions (start time, spirit-box and Talking Board words, saved photo references) and your preferences (language, sensitivity, volume, filters, analytics choice) are stored locally on your device. Questions you type into the Talking Board are processed on your device and are not sent to us. Deleting the App removes this local data.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, the App schedules local reminders on your device. No push-notification token is sent to us.
Information collected automatically when you use the App.
- App activity and usage data (for example, screens viewed and features used), device and app information (device model, operating system version, app version, language), app-instance and device identifiers (including, where your device makes it available, the Android advertising ID, which Firebase Analytics uses for analytics only and not for advertising), and approximate location derived from your IP address — collected through Google Firebase Analytics only after you tap "Agree" on the "Help us improve" prompt. Analytics collection is off until then and stays off if you tap "Decline".
- Crash logs and diagnostics (stack traces, device state at the time of a crash, performance information) — collected through Google Firebase Crashlytics.
Information you choose to send us. If you contact support, the App opens your own email app with a message to us. We receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply.
We do not collect your name, contacts, precise location, audio recordings or payment information.
2. How we use information
- To provide and operate the App's features.
- To remember your journal, photos and preferences on your device.
- To understand how the App is used and improve it (analytics).
- To detect, diagnose and fix crashes and performance problems.
- To protect the App against misuse and keep it secure.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information for advertising.

When you use the share button on a saved photo, the photo is passed to the app you choose (for example, a messaging or social app). That transfer is controlled by you, and the receiving app handles the photo under its own privacy policy.
The App does not include advertising SDKs or advertising-measurement SDKs.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share information only:
- with the service providers listed above, who process it on our behalf;
- when required by law, regulation, legal process or a government request;
- to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or us;
- as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK — GDPR)
- Consent — for camera access, notifications and analytics. You can withdraw camera or notification permission in your device settings. To withdraw analytics consent, clear the App's data (or reinstall the App) and tap "Decline" when asked again, or contact us and we will help.
- Legitimate interests — to run, secure, diagnose and improve the App.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep or disclose information by law.
6. Data retention
- Data stored on your device stays there until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App. Photos saved to your gallery remain until you delete them in your gallery.
- Firebase Analytics data is kept for the retention period configured for our project (up to 14 months for event-level data).
- Crashlytics crash reports are kept for up to 90 days.
- Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and for our records.
7. Your rights
EEA/UK (GDPR). You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal data; object to or restrict processing; withdraw consent; and complain to your local data protection authority.
California and other U.S. states (CCPA/CPRA and similar laws). You may request to know, delete or correct personal information we hold about you, and you will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.
Advertising ID. The App shows no ads. You can reset or delete your Android advertising ID at any time in your device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads, depending on your device).
Other regions. Users in Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA) and other regions have similar rights under local law.
To exercise any right, email contact@tranquilmind.co. Because the App has no accounts, please include your device model and the approximate dates you used the App so we can locate any analytics or crash data linked to your device.
8. Children's privacy
The App contains horror-themed content and is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the higher age of digital consent in your country). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International data transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Data security
Information sent to our service providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
