Privacy Policy

PDFeather ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

PDFeather is a lightweight PDF reader and editor that lets you read, annotate, sign, merge, split, scan, convert and password-protect documents on your device. You do not need to create an account to use it. Your documents are processed on your device — we do not upload the content of your files to our servers.

1. Information We Collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the App, show ads, and improve reliability. We collect only data that leaves your device.

a) Information collected automatically

• Device and advertising identifiers — including the Google Advertising ID (AAID) and similar device identifiers, used by our advertising, attribution and analytics partners.
• Approximate (coarse) location — derived from your IP address by our advertising and analytics partners for ad delivery and measurement. We do not collect precise GPS location, and the App does not request a location permission.
• App activity and usage — such as features used, screens viewed, and in-app events, for analytics and ad measurement.
• Purchase status — whether you hold an active subscription, so we can enable premium features and remove ads. Payments themselves are processed by Google Play; we do not receive your card or bank details.
• Crash logs and diagnostics — crash reports, error logs and basic performance data to fix bugs and improve stability.

b) On-device access that is NOT collected by us

Some features need device permissions but the data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us:

• Camera — used only to scan physical documents into PDFs on your device.
• Photos / storage / media and files — used only to open, import, edit and save your documents and images locally. We do not upload your photos or documents.
• Notifications — used only to show local app notifications.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide and operate the App and its document tools.
• Display and measure advertising, and (where you consent) personalize ads.
• Understand usage and improve features, stability and performance.
• Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security issues.
• Process and validate subscriptions and restore purchases.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data with the third-party partners listed in Section 3 to provide the App, show and measure ads, and analyze usage; for legal reasons (to comply with law or lawful requests); and in a business transfer (e.g. merger or acquisition).

U.S. state notice. Because our advertising partners may use identifiers and approximate location to deliver personalized ads, this may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (or "targeted advertising") under certain U.S. state laws. You can opt out via the ad-personalization and advertising-ID controls described in Section 3 and by declining the consent request where offered.

• Consent — for personalized advertising and, where required, analytics.
• Legitimate interests — core functionality, security, fraud prevention, and product improvement.
• Performance of a contract / legal obligation — processing and validating purchases.

6. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Advertising and analytics identifiers are retained according to each partner's retention periods; crash and diagnostic data are kept for a limited period to diagnose and fix issues.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• GDPR (EEA/UK): access, correct, delete, port, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
• CCPA/CPRA (California): know, delete, correct, opt out of "sale"/"sharing" and targeted advertising, and non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
• Other regions (e.g. LGPD in Brazil, PIPEDA in Canada): equivalent access, correction and deletion rights.

To exercise a right, contact us at contact@tranquilmind.co. Because the App has no user accounts, please include your advertising ID and relevant device details so we can locate and act on any associated data.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it. We do not use child-directed advertising.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.

10. Data Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and other reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
