Obsidian Browser ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

Obsidian Browser is a fast, lightweight web browser with a built-in ad blocker that helps block ads and pop-ups on the websites you visit. You do not need to create an account to use it.

1. Information We Collect

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name or email through the App. We collect only the limited data described below, most of it automatically through third-party SDKs.

Collected automatically

• Device and advertising identifiers — including the Android Advertising ID (AAID) and similar identifiers, used for analytics and advertising.
• Approximate location — coarse location derived from your IP address by our advertising and analytics providers for ad targeting and measurement. We do not collect precise/GPS location.
• App activity — in-app interactions and events (screens viewed, features used, ad interactions) for analytics and advertising.
• Install & attribution data — install/referrer signals and your advertising identifier, used by our attribution provider to measure which marketing source led you to the App.
• Crash logs and diagnostics — crash reports and performance/diagnostic data to keep the App stable.
• Purchase status — whether you hold an active subscription (Premium), processed through Google Play Billing.

Data that stays on your device (not collected by us)

• Your browsing history, tabs, and search queries are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to or collected by us. Premium adds a no-history browsing option. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes this local data.

• Provide and operate the App and its browsing and ad-blocking features.
• Show and measure advertising (including personalized ads where permitted).
• Analytics and product improvement.
• Fraud prevention, security, and abuse detection.
• Process and validate purchases and subscriptions.
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data only with the third-party providers listed in Section 3 — including our advertising, ad-mediation, and attribution partners — to operate the App, and for legal reasons or in connection with a business transfer.

• Consent — personalized advertising and, where required, analytics.
• Legitimate interests — core functionality, security, fraud prevention, and product improvement.
• Contract / legal obligation — processing purchases and meeting legal requirements.

6. Data Retention

We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Advertising and analytics identifiers are retained according to our partners' retention periods; crash and diagnostic data are kept for a limited period. Locally stored browsing data remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the App.

7. Your Rights

• GDPR (EEA/UK): access, correct, delete, port, object, restrict, and withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
• CCPA/CPRA (California) and other U.S. states: know, delete, correct, opt out of "sale"/"sharing" and targeted advertising, and non-discrimination.
• Other regions: equivalent rights under laws such as LGPD (Brazil) and PIPEDA (Canada).

8. Children's Privacy & Child Safety Standards

The App is intended for users 18 years of age and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. As a general-purpose web browser, the App can access content across the internet and is not designed or intended for use by minors. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Child Safety Standards (CSAE) — Obsidian Browser

Tranquil Mind Technology JSC has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This section constitutes the published child safety standards for Obsidian Browser, as published by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC.

What we prohibit. We strictly prohibit any use of the App that involves, facilitates, creates, requests, shares, or promotes CSAE or CSAM in any form — including images, video, audio, and text — as well as the sexualization of minors, grooming, sextortion, solicitation, and trafficking of children. This prohibition applies to all use of the App.

Nature of the App. Obsidian Browser is a web browser. It does not host, and does not provide, user accounts, user-to-user messaging, comments, or a platform for users to upload, publish, or exchange user-generated content with other users. The App itself is not a means of distributing content between users. Web pages you visit are operated by independent third parties over whom we have no control.

Prevention and response.

• We design and operate the App so it is not intended for use by, or to appeal to, children (18+ minimum age).
• We comply with applicable child-safety laws and align with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.
• Where we become aware of apparent CSAM connected to our services, we act to remove it, restrict or terminate access to the App where within our control, and report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or to the appropriate local authorities.
• To report a child-safety concern related to the App, or to report suspected CSAE/CSAM, contact our child-safety point of contact below. Suspected exploitation of a child can also be reported directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org and to your local law enforcement.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we and our providers rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

10. Data Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. Third-Party Content

Obsidian Browser lets you access websites and content operated by third parties. We do not create, own, or control that content and are not responsible for it or for the privacy practices of the sites you visit. Please review the policies of the websites you use.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
