Privacy Policy
Klenzo ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Klenzo is a storage and file cleanup utility for Android. It scans your device to find junk files, large files, duplicate files and similar photos, lets you compress photos and videos, and shows you how your storage and installed apps are being used. You do not need to create an account to use it, and Klenzo has no user profiles, no messaging and no social features.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information that leaves your device
We collect only the following categories, all of them automatically:
| Category | What it is | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Device and other identifiers | A Firebase app-instance ID, a Firebase installation ID, and the Android advertising ID | To distinguish one installation from another in analytics and crash reports, and to deliver remote configuration values |
| App activity (app interactions) | Automatically-collected analytics events such as app opens, session starts and which screens you view — for example that the "Duplicate Files" screen was opened | To understand which features are used and where people get stuck |
| Installed apps | The list of applications installed on your device, including package names | Required by the Activity Monitor, Rarely Used Apps, Store Check and Uninstall features. See §1.3 for the one case where a package name is transmitted |
| Crash logs | Stack traces, error messages and the state of the App at the moment it crashed | To diagnose and fix crashes |
| Diagnostics | Device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and memory/storage state accompanying a crash report | To reproduce and fix crashes on the devices where they occur |
| General geographic region | A country- or region-level location that our analytics provider derives from your IP address | Standard analytics reporting. This is not GPS and is not street-level. The App requests no location permission at all |
| IP address | Sent to the servers listed in §3 as an unavoidable part of any internet request | Network connectivity, the speed test, and the Store Check lookup |
1.2 Information that does NOT leave your device
The following are read on your device and are never uploaded, transmitted or collected by us:
- The contents of your files, photos and videos. Scanning, hashing for duplicate detection, similar-photo grouping, and photo/video compression all run locally on your device.
- File names, file paths and folder structures.
- Deleted items. Files you delete are moved to a local trash folder inside the App's own storage and are restorable for 30 days. They are never sent anywhere.
- App usage statistics (launch counts and foreground time shown in Activity Monitor and Rarely Used Apps). These are read from the Android usage-stats service and displayed to you locally.
- Your Clean Score and settings, which are stored in local device storage.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, calendar, messages, audio, precise location, payment details or any government identifier. The App has no login, no forms and no server of our own.
1.3 Permissions and why the App needs them
| Permission | Why | Data transmitted |
|---|---|---|
All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE), and read/write external storage on older Android versions | To scan your storage for junk, large, duplicate and similar files, and to delete or compress the ones you select | None. File contents and paths stay on the device |
Photos and videos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO) | To find similar photos, screenshots, and media you may want to compress or remove | None. Media never leaves the device |
Query all packages (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES) | To list installed apps for Activity Monitor, Rarely Used Apps, Store Check and Uninstall | Only in the Store Check feature, and only when you use it — see below |
Usage access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) | To show which apps you have opened recently and which you have not opened in 60 days. You grant this manually in Android Settings and can revoke it there at any time | None |
Request delete packages (REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES) | To open Android's own uninstall dialog when you choose to remove an app | None |
| Internet, network state, Wi-Fi state | For the Wi-Fi Security check, the Network Speed test, Store Check, and analytics/crash reporting | See §3 |
About Store Check specifically: when you run the Store Check feature, the App sends the package name of an installed app to play.google.com in order to read the HTTP status of that app's public Play Store listing and tell you whether the app is still listed. Only the package name and your IP address are involved; the page content is not downloaded and nothing is stored by us. Because a package name identifying software on your device is transmitted to a third party in this feature, we declare Installed apps as both collected and shared in our Google Play Data safety declaration.
You may decline or revoke any of these permissions. The features that depend on them will stop working; the rest of the App will continue to function.
2. How we use information
We use the information described in §1.1 to:
- Operate and maintain the App — deliver remote configuration values that control feature behaviour.
- Diagnose and fix problems — investigate crashes and errors using crash logs and diagnostics.
- Understand and improve the App — analyse which features are used, in aggregate, to decide what to build and fix.
- Protect the App — detect abnormal or abusive usage patterns.
- Comply with law — retain or disclose information where legally required.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making that produces legal effects, or any purpose unrelated to running the App. Klenzo contains no advertising of any kind.
3. Third-party services
| Service | Provider | Role | What it receives | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Firebase Analytics | Google LLC | Usage analytics | App-instance ID, advertising ID, automatic app events, IP-derived country/region | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy · https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Google LLC | Crash reporting | Installation ID, stack traces, device model, OS and app version, memory/storage state | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Firebase Remote Config | Google LLC | Remote feature configuration | Installation ID, app and device metadata | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
Google Play (play.google.com) | Google LLC | Store Check listing lookup | The package name you are checking, plus your IP address | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
Google connectivity endpoints (connectivitycheck.gstatic.com, www.google.com/generate_204) | Google LLC | Confirming a working internet connection | Your IP address only. These endpoints return an empty response with no content | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
Cloudflare Speed Test (speed.cloudflare.com) | Cloudflare, Inc. | Measuring your download speed | Your IP address and the size of the test download. No file or personal content is sent | https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ |
Google acts as our service provider (data processor) for the Firebase services above: it processes that data on our behalf and under our instructions, not for its own independent purposes.
Advertising identifier. Klenzo serves no ads and works with no ad network, mediation or attribution SDK. However, the Firebase Analytics library reads the Android advertising ID for analytics attribution, and it declares the AD_ID permission in the App's manifest. You remain in full control of that identifier: on Android, open Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact path varies by manufacturer and version), where you can reset your advertising ID or delete it entirely. If you delete it, the App continues to work normally.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising or targeted advertising. Klenzo has no advertising, so there is no ad network, data broker or marketing partner receiving anything from the App.
We share information only:
- With the service providers listed in §3, strictly to run analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, the Store Check lookup, the connectivity check and the speed test.
- For legal reasons — to comply with a law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, our users or the public.
- In a business transfer — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will give notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We never share the contents of your files, photos or videos, because we never receive them.
5. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK — GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on:
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — operating, securing, debugging and improving the App. Our interest in a working, stable product is balanced against the limited, non-sensitive nature of the data described in §1.1.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — where the law of your country requires consent for analytics identifiers. Where consent is required and you withhold or withdraw it, analytics collection stops; the App keeps working.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — where retention or disclosure is required by law.
You may withdraw consent at any time by resetting or deleting your advertising ID (§3) or by uninstalling the App. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
6. Data retention
- Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for Firebase according to the retention window we configure, which does not exceed 14 months, after which event-level data is deleted automatically.
- Crash logs and diagnostics are retained by Crashlytics for approximately 90 days from the date of the crash.
- Locally stored data (your recycle bin, Clean Score history, language preference and scan settings) stays on your device for as long as you keep the App installed, except that recycle-bin items are purged after 30 days. Uninstalling the App deletes all of it.
We retain nothing on servers of our own, because we operate none.
7. Your rights and choices
7.1 Controls available to everyone, immediately
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings (§3) to break the link between past and future analytics data.
- Revoke any permission in Android Settings → Apps → Klenzo → Permissions, and revoke usage access in Settings → Special app access → Usage access.
- Uninstall the App, which deletes all locally stored data and stops all collection.
7.2 GDPR rights (EEA / UK)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
7.3 CCPA / CPRA rights (California) and other U.S. states
You have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used and disclosed, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, so there is no opt-out to exercise; the rights to know, delete and correct still apply.
7.4 Other regions
Residents of Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA), and other jurisdictions with comparable laws may exercise the equivalent rights available to them under local law.
7.5 How to make a request
Email contact@tranquilmind.co with the subject line "Privacy Request".
Because Klenzo has no accounts, we cannot identify you from your name or email alone. To let us locate and delete data associated with your installation, please include:
- your advertising ID (Android Settings → Privacy → Ads), and
- your device model and Android version, and
- the approximate date you installed or last used the App.
We will respond within the time required by applicable law (30 days under the GDPR, 45 days under the CCPA, each extendable where the law permits). If we cannot identify data belonging to you from the details provided, we will tell you so and explain what else, if anything, would help.
8. Children's privacy
Klenzo is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the applicable age of digital consent in your country (which is 16 in some EEA member states).
The App is a device maintenance utility. It has no games, no rewards, no messaging, no user-to-user contact and no content designed to appeal to children.
If you believe a child under the applicable age has provided us with personal information, contact contact@tranquilmind.co and we will delete it promptly.
9. International data transfers
We are based in Vietnam, and the service providers listed in §3 process data on servers in the United States and other countries. Your information may therefore be transferred to, stored in and processed in countries whose data-protection laws differ from those of your own.
Where such transfers involve personal data from the EEA or the UK, our providers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, together with supplementary technical measures, as described in Google's and Cloudflare's own transfer documentation linked in §3.
10. Data security
All data transmitted by the App travels over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Data stored on your device is protected by Android's application sandbox, which prevents other apps from reading it.
Because the App has no accounts and no server of ours, there is no central database of user data to breach.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. External links
The App links to this Privacy Policy, to our Terms of Use, and — through the Store Check and Uninstall features — to pages and screens operated by Google. These open in your browser or in an Android system screen. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Review their policies separately.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the App, our providers, or the law. Material changes will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date, and where required by law we will seek your consent. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
