Privacy Policy
Kestrel Browser ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Kestrel Browser is a private, lightweight web browser with a built-in ad and pop-up blocker. You do not need to create an account to use it, and we do not host or store the web pages, searches, or content you browse.
1. Information We Collect
We do not ask you to sign in or provide personal details, and your browsing history, open tabs, bookmarks, and search entries are stored only on your device — we do not collect or transmit them to our servers.
The App and our third-party partners automatically collect the following limited data to run the App, show and measure ads, and fix crashes:
- Device and advertising identifiers — including the Android Advertising ID (AAID), device model, OS version, and app version.
- Approximate (coarse) location — derived from your IP address by our advertising partners for ad targeting and measurement. We do not request or collect GPS/precise location (the App holds no location permission).
- App activity / interactions — in-app events such as screens viewed and features used, for analytics and ad measurement. This does not include the specific websites you visit.
- Crash logs and diagnostics — technical information generated when the App crashes or misbehaves.
- Purchase status — whether you hold an active Premium (ad-free) subscription, processed through Google Play Billing. We never receive your full card or payment details.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its ad-blocking features.
- Serve, personalize, cap, and measure advertising.
- Analyze usage to improve stability and performance.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Process and validate Premium subscriptions.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following data-transmitting services. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) | Analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google AdMob | Advertising & measurement | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Meta Audience Network | Ad mediation (personalized ads) | facebook.com/about/privacy |
| AppLovin | Ad mediation | applovin.com/privacy |
| Pangle | Ad mediation | pangleglobal.com/privacy |
| Mintegral | Ad mediation | mintegral.com/en/privacy |
| Adjust | Attribution & analytics | adjust.com/terms/privacy-policy |
| Google Play Billing | Subscription purchases | policies.google.com/privacy |
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share the limited data above with the third-party services listed in §3 for the purposes described. Because some advertising is personalized, certain U.S. state privacy laws may classify this as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising — you may opt out as described in §3 (advertising ID) and §7. We may also disclose information for legal reasons (to comply with law or lawful requests) or in a business transfer (merger, acquisition, or asset sale).
5. Legal Bases (EEA/UK — GDPR)
- Consent — personalized ads and analytics where consent is required (collected via the UMP consent flow).
- Legitimate interests — core functionality, security, fraud prevention, and improvement.
- Contract / legal obligation — processing Premium purchases and meeting legal duties.
6. Data Retention
We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Advertising and analytics identifiers are retained according to each partner's retention periods; crash and diagnostic data are kept for a limited period to resolve issues.
7. Your Rights
- GDPR (EEA/UK): access, correct, delete, port, object, restrict, and withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your Data Protection Authority.
- CCPA/CPRA (California) and similar U.S. state laws: know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale"/"sharing" of personal information and targeted advertising; non-discrimination for exercising rights.
- Other regions (LGPD, PIPEDA, etc.): the equivalent local rights.
Because the App has no accounts, please include your Advertising ID and device details when you contact us so we can locate any associated data. Email contact@tranquilmind.co.
8. Children's Privacy & Child Safety Standards
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your region). If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Child Safety Standards (CSAE)
This section is the published Child Safety Standards for Kestrel Browser, developed by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, and applies to the App as listed on Google Play.
Zero tolerance for CSAE/CSAM. We have zero tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). We strictly prohibit any use of the App that involves, facilitates, or promotes the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors — in any form, including images, video, audio, text, and AI-generated content — as well as the sexualization of minors, grooming, sextortion, solicitation, or trafficking, and any attempt to create, request, access, share, or promote such material.
Nature of the App and our response. Kestrel Browser is a web browser. It does not host, publish, or store user-generated content, and it does not provide user-to-user messaging, comments, or content sharing — the App only displays third-party websites that we neither create nor control. Accordingly:
- If you encounter suspected CSAM or child-exploitation content on a website while using the App, please report it to us at contact@tranquilmind.co, and report it directly to the relevant authorities and hosting provider.
- We review reports we receive, and where we have the ability to act (for example, blocklisting or restricting access to a reported resource within the App), we will take appropriate action.
- We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or local law-enforcement authorities as required by applicable law, and we cooperate with lawful investigations.
Compliance. We comply with applicable child-safety laws and align our practices with the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy.
Child-safety point of contact. Child-safety concerns and CSAE/CSAM reports: contact@tranquilmind.co.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we and our partners rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for these transfers.
10. Data Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. Third-Party Content
Kestrel Browser lets you access third-party websites and content. We do not create, own, endorse, or control that content and are not responsible for it. Third-party sites are governed by their own terms and privacy policies — please review them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
