Privacy Policy
Junklift ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Junklift is an on-device storage cleaner that finds junk and cache files, duplicate and large files, compresses photos and videos, and shows what is using your storage. You do not need to create an account to use it, and we do not operate a user-login system or a server that stores your files. The App is free and supported by advertising.
1. Information we collect
Data that stays on your device and is never uploaded to us. Junklift's core work happens entirely on your phone. The following is read locally, shown to you in the App, and never transmitted off the device:
- Files and media on your storage — file names, sizes, types, dates, and photo/video content that the App scans to detect junk, cache, large files, duplicates, and compressible media. Compression and deletion also run locally.
- Installed-app information — the list of apps installed on the device and their storage/usage figures, used for the app manager, "rarely used apps" and uninstall screens.
- App usage statistics — the Android usage-stats data you grant in system settings, used to show which apps you rarely open.
- Device state — available/total storage, battery level, and network status shown on the dashboard.
We do not upload, copy, back up, or sell your files, photos, videos, or app list.
Data that does leave the device. Through the third-party services listed in section 3, the following is collected:
- Advertising identifier — your Android Advertising ID (the App declares the
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_IDpermission), used by our advertising, mediation and attribution partners to serve and measure ads and to limit how often you see the same ad. - Device and app identifiers — a Firebase installation/instance ID, an Adjust device identifier, device model, operating-system version, language, country/region, network type, and app version.
- Approximate, IP-derived location — country/region level only, inferred from your IP address by our analytics, advertising and attribution providers. The App does not request GPS or any location permission.
- App activity — anonymous events such as which screen was opened, which clean action was completed, and which ad was shown, clicked or rewarded, plus session counts.
- Advertising and attribution data — ad impressions, clicks, ad-revenue estimates, install source and campaign/referrer information, used to measure which marketing campaign brought you to the App and how ads perform.
- Crash logs and diagnostics — stack traces, device state at the time of a crash, and performance data, used to fix bugs.
Network tools. The network-speed and connectivity checks send test requests to public endpoints (Cloudflare's speed-test service and Google's connectivity-check endpoint). Those providers see your IP address as they would for any web request; we do not receive or store the result.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise GPS location, microphone or camera input, or payment information. The App has no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
2. How we use information
- To provide and operate the App's scanning, cleaning, compression and storage-analysis features (locally, on your device).
- To display advertising — including banner, native, interstitial, app-open and rewarded ads — which is how the App is funded, and to cap ad frequency.
- To measure advertising and marketing performance (installs, campaign attribution, ad impressions and revenue) through our attribution partner.
- To diagnose crashes and errors and improve stability and performance.
- To understand aggregate feature usage so we can improve the App.
- To deliver remote configuration (for example enabling or tuning a feature, or changing an ad placement, without an app update).
- To send local reminders about cleaning your device, if you allow notifications.
- To comply with legal obligations and to protect against fraud, invalid ad traffic, abuse, or security incidents.
3. Third-party services
The App integrates the following data-transmitting services. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:
| Service | Purpose | Data involved | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads | Serving and measuring ads, ad mediation | Advertising ID, device and app identifiers, IP address and IP-derived region, ad interaction data | https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads |
| Google Firebase Analytics | Aggregate usage and session analytics | Device/app identifiers, app activity, IP-derived country/region | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Crash and error reporting | Crash logs, diagnostics, device model and OS version | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Firebase Remote Config | Remote feature and ad configuration | Device/app identifiers, app version, language/region | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Adjust | Install attribution, campaign and ad-revenue measurement | Advertising ID, Adjust device identifier, IP address, device/app information, install and event data | https://www.adjust.com/terms/privacy-policy/ |
| Meta Audience Network / Facebook SDK | Ad mediation network and advertising measurement | Advertising ID, device and app information, IP address, ad interaction data | https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy |
| Google Play Services (in-app review) | Showing the Google Play review prompt | Handled by Google Play; the App receives no data | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Cloudflare speed test & Google connectivity check | Optional network speed/connectivity measurement | Your IP address, seen by those endpoints during the test | https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ |
Ad mediation networks. AdMob mediates ad demand through the following partners, which may receive your advertising ID, IP address and ad-interaction data when they serve an ad, each under its own privacy policy:
- AppLovin — https://www.applovin.com/privacy/
- Pangle (ByteDance) — https://www.pangleglobal.com/privacy/enduser
- Mintegral — https://www.mintegral.com/en/privacy/
- Liftoff Monetize (Vungle) — https://liftoff.io/privacy-policy/
- Unity Ads — https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy
- ironSource — https://www.is.com/privacy-policy/
- InMobi — https://www.inmobi.com/privacy-policy
- DT Exchange (Fyber / Digital Turbine) — https://www.digitalturbine.com/privacy-policy
- Chartboost — https://www.chartboost.com/privacy/
- Moloco — https://www.moloco.com/privacy-policy
A mediation network only receives data when it is enabled and actually serves an ad in the App.
Ad consent (UMP / IAB TCF). Where required — in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and other regions with similar law — the App shows Google's User Messaging Platform consent form before personalised advertising is enabled, and reads your IAB TCF consent state so that mediation partners honour your choice. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy/consent option in the App's settings, where available.
4. How we share information
Information is shared only:
- with the service providers and advertising partners listed in section 3, for analytics, crash reporting, configuration, attribution and advertising;
- when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request;
- to protect the rights, safety or property of users, the public, or us;
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify users of any change in how data is handled.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, because the App can serve personalised advertising where you have consented or where consent is not required, sharing your advertising identifier with advertising partners may be treated as a "sale" or as "sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising" under some U.S. state privacy laws (for example California's CCPA/CPRA). You can opt out at any time — see section 7.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK — GDPR)
- Consent — for personalised advertising, for advertising/attribution identifiers, and where local law requires consent for analytics or device notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time through the in-app consent option or your system settings.
- Legitimate interests — operating and securing the App, fixing crashes, measuring non-personalised advertising and understanding aggregate usage to improve the product.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data to comply with law.
6. Data retention
We keep analytics and crash data only as long as needed for the purposes above — typically up to 14 months for aggregate analytics and up to 90 days for crash reports, subject to our providers' retention settings. Advertising and attribution data is retained by our advertising partners under their own retention policies. Data stored only on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Because the App has no accounts, identify your request using your advertising ID so we can locate the relevant records. Contact us using section 12 and we will respond within the period required by law.
Advertising controls available to you at any time:
- Reset or delete your advertising ID — Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID.
- Opt out of personalised ads — Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation; or reopen the in-app consent form, where available.
- Revoke permissions — storage/media, notifications and usage-access permissions can be withdrawn in system settings at any time.
California (CCPA/CPRA): you may opt out of the "sale"/"sharing" of personal information by opting out of ads personalisation as described above or by emailing us; we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. EEA/UK (GDPR), Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA) and other regions with comparable law: the same request channel applies, and you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
8. Children's privacy
Junklift is a general-purpose utility intended for users aged 13 and over (16 where local law requires), is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where a user is identified as a child, personalised advertising is not served. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International data transfers
We and our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States and Singapore. Where data leaves the EEA/UK, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
10. Data security
We use HTTPS/TLS for all network traffic, keep processing on-device wherever possible, and limit access to the analytics and advertising consoles to authorised personnel. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
