Privacy Policy
GPSage ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
GPSage is a family locator and GPS utility. It lets you share your live location with contacts you approve, set safe-zone arrival and departure alerts, send an SOS status to your contacts, take GPS-stamped photos and videos, find nearby places, and use tools such as a compass, speedometer, level, stopwatch, area-code lookup, world clock and weather. You do not create a username/password account and you do not sign in. When you first open the App, it creates a profile identified by a randomly generated connection code. Other people connect with you only by using that code or your QR code, and a connection is made only after the request is accepted.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the data needed to run the App's features. Depending on the features you use, this includes:
Information stored in your GPSage profile (sent to our servers)
- Connection code — a random identifier created for your profile, used to connect you with contacts.
- Display name — set by default to your device's model name; you can change it.
- Phone number (optional) — only if you add it to your profile.
- Profile photo (optional) — only if you upload one; it is stored in our cloud storage.
- Precise location and address — your latitude, longitude and a street address derived from them, updated while location sharing is on. With your permission, the App also collects location in the background (including when the App is closed) so your shared location and safe-zone alerts stay up to date.
- Battery level — so your contacts can see why your location may stop updating.
- SOS status — whether you have turned on SOS, and when it ends (SOS switches off automatically after 5 minutes).
- Contacts and requests — the contacts you have connected with and the connection requests you have sent or received.
- Places and alerts — the safe zones you save (name, location, alert settings) and the history of arrival/departure alerts.
Information collected automatically
- Device and advertising identifiers — including the Android Advertising ID, Firebase installation IDs and the push-notification token.
- Approximate location — derived from your IP address by advertising and analytics partners.
- App activity — in-app events such as screens used and buttons tapped.
- Crash logs and diagnostics — technical data about crashes and app performance.
Information that stays on your device
- GPS-stamped photos and videos you take or stamp are saved in the App and in your device gallery. We do not upload them. If you share one, it goes through Android's share sheet to the app you choose, under that app's policy.
- Camera access is used only to take photos, record videos and scan QR codes. The App does not read your phone's contact list.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide and operate the App — live map, location sharing with your approved contacts, safe-zone alerts, SOS status, push notifications, weather and nearby places;
- show advertising and measure ad performance and app installs;
- run analytics, fix crashes and improve the App;
- detect fraud, invalid ad traffic and security issues;
- comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-party services
The App uses the following third-party services, which receive data as described. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:
| Service | Purpose | Data involved | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config, Analytics, Crashlytics) | Storing your profile, location, contacts, places and alerts; profile photo storage; push notifications; configuration; analytics; crash reporting | Profile data in §1, device IDs, app activity, crash logs, diagnostics | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Maps Platform and Android geocoding | Map display, nearby-place results, converting coordinates to addresses | Location, device information | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Open-Meteo | Weather in the Tools tab and weather stamps | Location coordinates | https://open-meteo.com/en/terms#privacy |
| Google AdMob | Advertising and mediation | Device and advertising IDs, approximate location, app activity | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| Meta Audience Network | Advertising (mediation) | Device and advertising IDs, approximate location | https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy |
| Pangle | Advertising (mediation) | Device and advertising IDs, approximate location | https://www.pangleglobal.com/privacy |
| Mintegral | Advertising (mediation) | Device and advertising IDs, approximate location | https://www.mintegral.com/en/privacy |
| AppLovin | Advertising (mediation) | Device and advertising IDs, approximate location | https://www.applovin.com/privacy |
| Unity Ads | Advertising (mediation) | Device and advertising IDs, approximate location | https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy |

| Adjust | Install attribution and measurement (when enabled) | Device and advertising IDs, app activity | https://www.adjust.com/terms/privacy-policy |
While you grant location permission, advertising and analytics SDKs included in the App may be able to access your device's precise location under their own policies.
Ad consent (UMP). Where required (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), we show a Google-certified consent message before personalized ads and honor your choice. You can review your choice again through the App's consent options where they are offered.
Reset or opt out of your advertising ID. You can reset or delete your Android Advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization, in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
4. How we share information
- With your contacts. Within the App, your display name, profile photo, phone number (if added), location, address, battery level and SOS status are shown to contacts whose connection request you accepted. You can turn off location sharing or remove a contact at any time.
- With the service providers and partners listed in §3, to operate the App, show ads and measure performance.
- For legal reasons — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety and property of users, us or others.
- In a business transfer — as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, when personalized ads are enabled, some U.S. state laws may treat the use of advertising identifiers by ad partners as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out by declining personalized ads in the consent message or opting out of ads personalization in your device settings (§3).
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK — GDPR)
We rely on:
- consent — for personalized ads, analytics where required, and location, camera and notification permissions (you can withdraw consent at any time);
- performance of our service — to provide the features you use, such as location sharing and safe-zone alerts;
- legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, crash reporting and improving the App;
- legal obligations.
6. Data retention
- Your profile record (connection code, name, phone number, profile photo, last recorded location and address, battery level, SOS status), contacts, places and alert history are kept while you use the App.
- When you turn off location sharing, the App stops updating your shared location and your contacts no longer see it in the App. Your last recorded location remains in your profile record until you ask us to delete your data.
- When you remove a contact, the connection between you is deleted.
- Uninstalling the App does not automatically delete your profile record. To delete it, contact us as described in §7.
- Advertising, attribution and analytics partners keep identifiers according to their own retention schedules. Crash and diagnostic data are kept for a limited period.
7. Your rights and data deletion
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- GDPR / UK GDPR: access, correct, delete or port your data; object to or restrict processing; withdraw consent; and complain to your data protection authority.
- CCPA/CPRA (California) and other U.S. state laws: know, access, delete and correct personal information; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising; and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
- Other regions (e.g. Brazil's LGPD, Canada's PIPEDA): similar rights under local law.
How to request deletion or exercise your rights. Because the App has no username/password account, email contact@tranquilmind.co with the subject "Data request" and include your connection code (shown on the "Share my code" / My QR screen). For data held by advertising partners, also include your Android Advertising ID. We will delete your profile record, profile photo, shared location, contacts, places and alert history, or respond to your request, within the time required by applicable law. We may ask for information to confirm the request comes from the device owner.
8. Children's privacy & Child Safety Standards
8.1 Children's privacy
GPSage is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in their country, such as 16 in some EEA countries). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at contact@tranquilmind.co and we will delete it.
8.2 Child Safety Standards (CSAE) {#child-safety}
These are the published Child Safety Standards of GPSage, operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC.
Zero tolerance. We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in GPSage. This covers images, video, audio and text, including AI-generated or altered material. You may not use GPSage — including profile photos, display names or any other information shown to other users — to:
- create, upload, request, share or promote material that sexualizes minors;
- groom, solicit, sextort or traffic a minor, or arrange to meet a minor for sexual purposes;
- locate, follow or track a minor for any exploitative purpose.
How GPSage limits risk. GPSage has no public profiles, public search of users, chat or messaging. Other users see your information only after you accept their connection request, and you can remove any contact at any time in the App.
Reporting. GPSage does not yet have an in-app report button. To report a user, profile photo or display name that violates these standards, or any concern about a child's safety, email our child-safety contact at contact@tranquilmind.co with the subject "Child safety" and include the connection code involved, if known. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Our response. We review reports promptly. When we find a violation, we remove the offending content from our servers and delete the profile involved. We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the relevant local authorities, and we cooperate with law enforcement as required by law.
Compliance. We comply with applicable child-safety laws and follow the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy.
Child-safety point of contact: contact@tranquilmind.co
9. International data transfers
Our service providers may process your data outside your country, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Data security
Data sent between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Data stored with Google Firebase is encrypted at rest by Google. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your connection code and QR code private and share them only with people you trust.
11. Third-party content
Nearby-place results, maps and weather come from third parties (Google Maps, Open-Meteo), and ads are provided by ad networks. We are not responsible for third-party content, websites or apps you open from GPSage. Please review their privacy policies.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
