Privacy Policy
Flashlynx ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Flashlynx is a flashlight utility: it turns your camera flash into a torch with SOS and strobe rhythms, a coloured screen light, flash alerts for incoming calls and notifications, and an optional torch-first home screen. You do not need to create an account to use it, and the App contains no advertising and no in-app purchases.
1. Information we collect
We do not ask you for any personal information. The App has no sign-up, no login, no profile and no contact form.
1.1 Information that stays only on your device
The following is processed on your device to make the App work and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:
- Your preferences and settings — torch rhythm (on/off timing) and brightness level, SOS and disco modes, screen-light colour and brightness, which alert sources you enabled, your "do not flash when" rules, and your home-screen layout, dock and folder arrangement. These are stored locally using the device's own app-storage mechanism.
- The list of installed launcher apps shown in the home screen, the app drawer and the alert-app picker. The App queries only apps that declare a standard launcher entry (
MAIN/LAUNCHERintent). It does not request the broad "query all packages" permission. This list is read on your device to draw the launcher and is never uploaded. - Call state. When you enable flash alerts for calls, the system tells the App whether the phone is ringing, idle or off-hook. The App receives only this state. It does not read, store or transmit phone numbers, your call log or your contacts.
- Notification signals. When you enable flash alerts for apps and grant notification access, the system passes the App the package name of the app that posted a notification and whether the notification is ongoing — this is what lets the torch blink for the apps you chose. The App does not read the title, text, sender or any content of your notifications, and nothing from them is uploaded.
1.2 Information collected automatically and sent to our service providers
For stability and aggregate usage measurement only:
- Crash and diagnostic data (Firebase Crashlytics): crash stack traces, exception messages, device model, operating-system version, App version and language, and a randomly generated installation identifier. Used to find and fix crashes.
- Aggregate app-usage and device data (Google Analytics for Firebase): automatically collected events such as app opens, screen transitions and session duration, together with device model, OS version, App version, coarse country/region derived from the IP address, a randomly generated app-instance identifier and, on Android devices where it is available and not reset or disabled, the Android advertising ID. The advertising ID is read by the Analytics SDK for measurement only; the App shows no advertising and performs no ad targeting. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
We do not collect your precise location, camera images, photos, microphone audio, contacts, files, messages or notification contents.
2. How we use information
- To provide and operate the App's features (torch, SOS and strobe rhythms, screen light, flash alerts, launcher home screen).
- To remember your settings between sessions, on your device.
- To detect, diagnose and fix crashes, bugs and performance problems.
- To understand in aggregate which features are used, so we can improve the App.
- To comply with legal obligations and to protect the security and integrity of the App.
We do not use your information for advertising, for profiling, or for any automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Third-party services
The App includes the following data-transmitting services. No advertising, attribution, mediation, payment or sign-in SDK is present in the App.
| Service | Provider | Purpose | Data it receives | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Firebase Crashlytics | Google LLC | Crash reporting and stability diagnostics | Crash traces, device model, OS and App version, installation identifier | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Analytics for Firebase | Google LLC | Aggregate app-usage and performance measurement | Automatic app events, device model, OS and App version, IP-derived coarse region, app-instance identifier, Android advertising ID (where available) | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
Google processes this data as our service provider. See also Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Because the App contains no advertising SDK, there is no ad-consent (UMP) flow, no personalised advertising and no advertising-ID-based ad targeting.
4. How we share information
- We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising or targeted advertising.
- We share the crash and aggregate-usage data described in section 3 with Google as our processor, for the stated purposes only.
- We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process or an enforceable governmental request, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or the security of the App.
- If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, information may be transferred; we will post notice of any change in ownership or control.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK — GDPR)
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — operating the App, keeping it secure, diagnosing crashes, and understanding aggregate usage to improve it.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — where your jurisdiction requires consent for analytics, and for the optional device permissions you choose to grant (notification access, phone-state access, notification posting, exact alarms). You may withdraw a permission at any time in your device settings.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — where we must retain or disclose information by law.
6. Data retention
- Settings, launcher layout and preferences stay on your device until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App.
- Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days.
- Aggregate analytics data is retained for the period configured in Google Analytics for Firebase (by default up to 14 months), after which it is deleted or further aggregated.
7. Your rights
GDPR / UK GDPR. You have the right to access, correct, delete, port, object to or restrict processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
CCPA / CPRA (California). You have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.
Other regions. Equivalent rights apply under LGPD (Brazil), PIPEDA (Canada) and comparable laws.
To exercise any right, email contact@tranquilmind.co. Because the App has no accounts, we cannot identify you by name — please include your device model, operating-system version, App version, your Android advertising ID (Settings → Google → Ads) if available, and the approximate date of use so we can locate the relevant records. You can also delete all locally stored data at any time by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling the App.
8. Children's privacy
The App is intended for users aged 13 and over (or the higher age of digital consent in your country) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App contains no chat, messaging, comments, user-to-user content sharing or user-generated content of any kind. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact contact@tranquilmind.co and we will delete it.
9. International data transfers
Our service providers may store and process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Data security
Data in transit to our service providers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Settings remain in the App's private storage area on your device. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. Third-party apps you open from the home screen
When you use Flashlynx as your home screen and open another application from it, that application is governed solely by its own privacy policy and terms. We do not receive any information about what you do inside other apps.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
