App: Chargybara Effective: 2026-09-30 Last Updated: 2026-09-30

Chargybara ("the App", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Tranquil Mind Technology JSC, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

Chargybara is a personalization app that replaces your Android status bar battery icon with hand-drawn capybara artwork and lets you customize the status bar, notch, stickers and an on-screen pet. You do not need to create an account to use it.

1. Information we collect

We collect only the limited data described below. Your icon choices, status bar and notch settings, stickers, pet settings, favourites and recently used items are processed and stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us.

Information collected automatically

Data processed only on your device

To draw your customizations on screen, the App uses an Accessibility Service (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE) and a display-over-other-apps permission (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW), together with a foreground service for the overlay and the screen pet. The Accessibility Service is used solely to align the custom status bar with the system UI and to render your battery icon, stickers and status bar elements. The service is configured so that it cannot read window content (canRetrieveWindowContent=false) and only receives "window changed" events, which tell it which app is currently in the foreground so it can hide the custom bar in the apps you exclude and show it again on the home screen. It does not read your messages, passwords, notification contents or the text of other apps. The foreground-app information it receives is used only on your device, in real time, and is not recorded, sent to us, or shared with anyone. The list of apps you choose to exclude is stored only on your device.

The App also declares POST_NOTIFICATIONS, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED and VIBRATE to show local reminders (such as low-battery alerts) and to restore the overlay after a restart. These notifications are generated on your device; we do not use them to collect data. ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and ACCESS_WIFI_STATE are used to show the connection indicator in the status bar and to check connectivity before loading ads — we do not collect your network names or Wi-Fi scan results.

Information you provide

The App has no accounts, forms, or profiles. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send.

Mediation adapters are bundled in the App so that networks can be enabled without a new release; a given network only receives data once it is activated for the App.

Ad consent. Where required (e.g. the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), the App shows a consent form before personalized ads are served, following the IAB TCF framework. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the App's settings.

Advertising ID. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads / Privacy → Ads).

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share the data described above only:

U.S. state privacy laws. Some U.S. states (e.g. California) define the disclosure of identifiers to advertising partners for personalized ads as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out of this by disabling ads personalization or resetting your advertising ID in your device settings, or by declining personalized-ads consent where the consent form is shown.

6. Data retention

We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Advertising and analytics partners retain identifiers for the limited periods described in their policies (e.g. Google Analytics for Firebase retains certain identifier-linked data for up to 14 months). Crash and diagnostic data is retained for a limited period needed for troubleshooting. Your settings and favourites remain on your device until you change them or uninstall the App.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data; to object to or restrict processing; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority (GDPR/UK GDPR). California and other U.S.-state residents may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing" and targeted advertising, without discrimination. Residents of other regions (e.g. Brazil — LGPD, Canada — PIPEDA) have similar rights under local law.

To exercise any right, email contact@tranquilmind.co. Because the App has no accounts, please include your advertising ID and device model in your request so we and our partners can locate data associated with your device. Uninstalling the App deletes all settings stored on your device.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, e.g. 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App has no chat, messaging, comments, or user-to-user content sharing. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us at contact@tranquilmind.co and we will delete it.

9. International data transfers

The data described above may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses implemented by our service providers.

10. Data security

Data transmitted by the App is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
